It’s been a while, I know. I been so busy learning Arch Linux, I did not have time to post anything. I am still learning. But, in this post, I will tell you what I was working on in my absence. I was working on my own flavor of Arch Linux with KDE Plasma.
At first, I needed to give my Distro a name, it took me a while, when I realized that I could combine part of my Nickname with Linux, so I called it, XeroLinux. Neat no ? I gave it an identity.
With that out of the way, it was time to think of a purpose for it. Since I was mainly creating it for myself, only one question was to be asked, “What’s my ideal Distro?”, answer was very simple, it’s one that I could install on multiple machines, each having its own selection of apps or packages installed. An All-Purpose Distro.
Why Plasma ?
Well, very simply because I like it. It’s the Desktop Environment that I prefer coz of the freedom of expression it brings when it comes to visual customization. It’s also fluid and fast. Finally, why not eh ?
XeroLinux – is an Arch-based Distro with KDE Plasma Desktop. Now I know not everyone likes my choice of DE, but that’s my own preference.
This is the type of Distro, that can be used to build it your way. What this means, is, ISO only provides Arch/KDE Plasma with the rest left up to you to either, install media apps from Calamares, turning your system into a full-on Production Studio, or Development apps turning it into a Dev-Studio and so on. One ISO for all, is the idea. And everything will be pulled from the net so you will always have latest versions of packages.
Video above explains everything in detail. I really hope you peeps like my work. If you do then head on to official Site and join our Discord where all the fun takes place via buttons below.
Now you know where I have been and will be for a while as Linux is a huge world, and releasing a Distro requires a lot of work to provide support and help others get it up and running smoothly on their systems..
Hope to see y’all there 😉
